My name is Megan Tucker, and I'm a Massachusetts-based photographer. I'm mostly self-taught and love everything about photography. My favorite shots are captured outdoors while hiking or traveling, but I also shoot portraits, events, and real estate.
I started shooting when I was 13 and got my first point-and-shoot camera. Since then, my gear and expertise have grown. As of 2023, I'm a certified FAA Part 107 pilot.
I started building LightCast Suite as a personal project while finishing my senior year at Bentley University in February 2026. The idea came to me when I was planning a sunrise shoot and couldn't figure out if the 5am wake-up to hike would be worth it. I had long been frustrated by fragmented and confusing weather data on the internet, with none of it being made for photographers, so I decided to use my marketing and CS knowledge to build my own tool.
In just the first 5 weeks, LightCast reached over 3,500+ photographers across 83 countries and was featured in PetaPixel, the world's biggest photography publication. This was all with no marketing budget or ad spend, and the response has been incredible! In the second half of 2026, my overarching goal is to pass approval for the App Store, along with adding more functionality and features.
If you enjoyed LightCast and would like to support in building the next steps, consider my buymeacoffee for exclusive access to new developments. All proceeds go directly to funding the investment required for App Store submission and hosting this web version.
